Peter followed that desire, and he was successful until his focus shifted from Jesus to the troubling waves. To have the desire to walk on water is great; to follow this desire is even greater. However, to shift your focus away from Jesus at the moment of the greatest success is the greatest mistake. But even then, Jesus is there to save us! The sermon focuses attention on God's call for us to go where the need is greatest, to love boldly and to join the harvest already begun by the Spirit.
